Camera

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Waterproof smartphone features a quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens, a dedicated 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. This device has a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 720 processor and offers pro-level photography with 450 nits brightness.

In daylight, the primary camera of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Waterproof impressed us with an excellent dynamic range and sharpness. Photos also have a natural-looking color science, a welcome change from the harsh, artificial colors we’ve seen in many smartphone cameras recently.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Waterproof’s lowlight performance is average, but it does a good job restoring highlights and shadows, even when there’s a little noise in the background. Its Night Mode also helps to capture nice-looking images.

Battery

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Waterproof has an impressive 5020mAh Li-Po battery that gives it way more than enough power to get through a whole day of heavy usage. We managed to squeeze almost 36 hours out of it in our test – that’s a pretty solid battery life for this kind of phone.

It also offers 33W fast charging that takes 50% of the charge in 30 minutes, which isn’t the fastest you’ll find in the market, but it’s still very fast for a budget smartphone.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Waterproof is also IP68 rated and comes with P2i splash-proof nano coating to prevent accidental spills or rain splashes. It’s available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black Colors.

Display

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Waterproof is a smartphone from the Redmi series of devices, and it is one of their most popular models. It is an excellent option for users who want a smartphone with premium build quality and features like HDR support, upgradable Android 10 OS, a faster Snapdragon 720 chipset, large memory, and more.

It has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD with a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. It has a 2.5D curved glass that supports 450 nits brightness and 84% of NTSC color gamut.

The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It also comes with an IP54 rating, which means it can withstand dust, accidental water splashes, and heavy rainfall.

Overall

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is a well-designed smartphone with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 based on its back panel and a 2.5D curved finish on the front. Like most mid-range smartphones, the frame is made from plastic and can quickly get scratches and dent marks if not handled carefully.

Its design is also straightforward, with a single punch-hole camera centered around the top. It comes in three color options black, blue, and white.

A 16MP selfie camera accompanies its square rear camera module on the front. It is a perfect primary camera, especially when taking pictures in good light. However, when it comes to low-light conditions or indoor shooting, it fares poorly and results in blurry images.
